Local bike advocacy organizations encourage and support cycling tourism.
The San Joaquin Bike Coalition (SJBC) is a volunteer-based 501c3 organization, with a mission to promote bicycle safety and improve the means to use alternative transportation in San Joaquin County. Through outreach and events, SJBC will perform three fundamental functions:
- Advocate for bicyclists’ and pedestrians’ interests in county and city governmental policies
- Provide resources and education to pedestrians, bicyclists, and motorists to promote safety and awareness
- Work with citizens and likeminded organizations throughout the county to promote bicycle and pedestrian friendly communities.
